Quality Manager II

Dura Automotive Systems, a leader in glass systems, structural door modules and exterior trim systems for the global automotive and mass transit industries is searching for a Quality Manager for the Lawrenceburg, TN facility.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Reviews customer and engineering requirements to establish quality specifications and standards for incoming materials, components and finished products insuring compliance and quality products.
Develops and recommends inspection, sampling techniques and quality control procedures insuring the production of finished products which meet or exceed quality specifications and standards. Prepares and maintains quality assurance manual.
Maintains continuous improvement effort by conducting research on product defects recommending improvement modifications for correction and studies cost improvement methods/projects making recommendations.
Writes and institutes inspection and testing procedures for incoming and finished products periodically reviewing and re-evaluating current procedures to insure proper product inspection and testing are done.
Reviews customer quality complaints and initiates corrective action to expedite resolution and satisfy our customers.
Acts as company liaison between customers and suppliers to resolve specific quality problems, instituting and maintaining a supplier surveillance program to determine if suppliers are fulfilling quality requirements.
Develops, coordinates, and implements plant-wide customer Supplier Quality Assistance survey preparations to provide a useful and meaningful tool in measuring customer satisfaction in regards to quality issues.
. Administers direct supervisory responsibility for quality control and SPC personnel including selection, hiring, training, performance evaluations, promotional recommendations and work schedules.
Provides grievance and personal counseling and keeps employees informed of operational changes.
Evaluates current and new quality assurance programs making recommendations for continuous improvement.
BS Degree; Automotive and/or Mass Transit experience a plus. IATF-16949, ISO-9001 and ISO14000 experience also a plus.
Experience with stretch bending, milling, aluminum polishing and automotive structures a strong plus.
Good working knowledge of procedures, operating methods or a combination of education and experience that develops technical skills to perform assignments with proficiency. Computer proficiency a must.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to function independently and as a part of a team.
Knowledge of APQP, Control Plan, PPAP, MSA, SPC and FMEA a must.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing initiatives is a plus.
Also requires considerable knowledge of management practice and policy interpretation or a combination of education and experience that develops technical capability to independently evaluate, select and apply techniques and standards.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
